Carmo/Murals & Fine Art/South Florida
Twenty years of large-scale work — public commissions, civic walls, and studio painting that turn buildings into landmarks.
Commissioned by cities, schools & businesses across South Florida
A few recent commissions. Each wall begins with the place and the people who pass it every day.
Dream in Action portrays Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. alongside the March on Washington, with key moments from the Civil Rights Movement integrated throughout the composition.

A powerful mural depicting hands gently cradling the Earth, symbolizing our shared responsibility to protect and nurture the planet for future generations. Set against a deep, star-flecked night, the luminous earth reads as cosmic from across the lot.

A striking fusion of realism and geometry: a figure in a vibrant, patterned hood holds a rooster — symbolizing life, tradition, and resilience. The faceless geometric pattern invites viewers to see themselves in the art, while the bold yellow and warm orange backdrop turns the wall into a beacon of color and culture for the community.

The studio
Working as Carmo, I've spent two decades turning facades, civic spaces, and private commissions into large-scale paintings across South Florida — from a tribute to Dr. King for the City of Hollywood to building-scale public art for North Miami's CRA.
Since 2003, I work with municipalities, schools, developers, and private collectors — licensed and insured on request, with equipment, lifts, and the Florida climate all handled. Every project starts with the architecture and the people who live with it: the aim is a piece that feels inevitable in its place, never simply applied to it.
Commissions
Carmo takes on a focused number of commissions each year so every wall gets the attention it deserves. Licensed and insured on request, on schedule, and built for the Florida climate.
Trusted by the City of Hollywood and North Miami's CRA. Fluent in public budgets, approvals, permitting, and RFP/RFQ submissions — from concept to ribbon-cutting.
Large-scale work that reflects a community's identity and inspires the people who pass it every day.
Restaurants, retail, hotels, and mixed-use developments. Murals that become a destination and a brand landmark.
Interior and exterior commissions for collectors and homeowners who want a singular, hand-painted piece.
How it works
We talk through the space, the audience, the budget, and what the wall needs to say. I visit or review photos and dimensions.
You receive composition sketches and a color direction rendered onto your actual wall, so you can see it before a drop of paint.
On-site production with all materials, equipment, and permitting handled. Clean, insured, and on schedule.
Sealed and protected for the Florida climate, photographed professionally, and delivered ready to share.
Questions
Every wall is custom, so pricing depends on size, surface, height, detail, and location. Most commissions are quoted as a single project price after a short conversation. Share your budget and goals through the form and you'll get a clear proposal within one business day.
Anywhere from a few days for a focused piece to a few weeks for a building-scale wall. You'll get a firm timeline up front, and the work is planned around your schedule and the Florida weather.

It starts with a conversation about the space and the audience. You then receive composition sketches and a color direction rendered onto your actual wall before any paint is applied — then on-site production, and a sealed, climate-ready handover with professional photos.
